A Girl Behind Dark Glasses Reviews… Poddle Pod

There are so many different products out there to make our lives easier with our little babes. So much so, that I didn’t know where to start when looking to help comfort Felicity.

Ordinarily, Felicity is not a clingy baby. She is ill at the moment so wants to be held all the time. This is just not possible. To deal with my chronic health, we needed to find something that would be comfortable for our little munchkin to rest in. She’s not too keen in just being in the cot and honestly, the cot looks massive on her!

We got gifted a Poddle Pod to do a review on and to be honest, when I first looked at them, I was skeptical of what a difference it would make. I should not have been so. I can honestly say that this pod has been a game changer! It claims to almost cuddle your baby and act as if she was being hugged to settle her. It really does work! Felicity loves to just lay in the pod and almost always ends up going to sleep.

We chose the yellow elephant pattern for the cover for our pod. Mainly because it was called the “Nellie” print, (which is the name of my niece). You can have the cover personalised so we had Felicity Grace put onto it. The colour combo is the same as our room – I mean colour coordination is key to life!

It is important to never leave your babe in the pod without watching them. This is incredibly important. Felicity probably goes in the pod for a couple of hours a day (generally when I am resting and Samuel is looking after her in the other room. I imagine that it is quite similar to what a swaddle achieves, it makes Felicity as snug as a bug in a rug and also gives me some timeout!

If you have a little one, then please do think of getting one of these pods. They really are amazing. I am very aware that you are advised not to use Sleepyhead pods but I have decided that while I’m watching her, I believe that it is a good idea.

It is great that it is machine washable but would have been even better if we had managed to get the waterproof covers but they were out of stock. They have some really gorgeous designs. We will be recommending Poddle Pods to new parents and particularly to my sister in law, @nellie_oakley-plus_mummy (Instagram id) who is 20 weeks pregnant.

It is especially helpful because as I mentioned above, Felicity hasn’t been well for the past week and it has helped to settle her for a couple of hours!
